However, cosmetic breast augmentation is not medically indicated, so the approval would need to be paid for privately.<\/p><p>For a period of 14 days prior to the surgery, anticoagulant medications (aspirin, warfarin, vitamin E, etc.) should be discontinued, as these can delay blood clotting. Alcohol and sleeping pills should also be avoided as much as possible, as they reduce the blood\u2019s ability to clot and thus increase the risk of post-operative bleeding. Cigarette smoking should be stopped if possible\u2014nicotine has a vasoconstrictive effect, which can lead to impaired wound healing.<\/p><p>Please note that the test results must not be more than 10 days old at the time of surgery. If applicable, please bring the X-ray and all test results with you to your surgery appointment.<\/p><p><strong>For medically indicated surgery and hospital admission:<\/strong><br>To ensure that admission procedures go smoothly, you should arrive at the hospital at least 2 \u00bd hours BEFORE the surgery and refrain from eating for 6 hours and drinking for 4 hours prior to the procedure. The same applies to the surgical clearance by an internist or general practitioner who has a contract with the standard social insurance providers in Austria. Our medical center has a general practitioner who is a private-practice physician. For private-practice physicians, insurance covers approximately 50%\u201375% of the costs. However, cosmetic breast augmentation is not medically indicated, so the approval would need to be paid for privately.<\/p><p>For a period of 14 days prior to the surgery, anticoagulant medications (aspirin, warfarin, vitamin E, etc.) should be discontinued, as these can delay blood clotting. Alcohol and sleeping pills should also be avoided as much as possible, as they reduce the blood\u2019s ability to clot and thus increase the risk of post-operative bleeding. Cigarette smoking should be stopped if possible\u2014nicotine has a vasoconstrictive effect, which can lead to impaired wound healing.<\/p><p>Please note that the test results must not be more than 10 days old at the time of surgery. If applicable, please bring the X-ray and all test results with you to your surgery appointment.<\/p><p><strong>For medically indicated surgery and hospital admission:<\/strong><br>To ensure that admission procedures go smoothly, you should arrive at the hospital at least 2 \u00bd hours BEFORE the surgery and refrain from eating for 6 hours and drinking for 4 hours prior to the procedure. Once the admission formalities are complete, you will be taken to your room; upon request, you will receive an IV drip to help alleviate your thirst.
